Fake news is one of the greatest threats of today’s world. More than a threat to the legacy media, fake news deceives people, creates fear and panic and sows the seeds of a divisive and tribal society, open to extremist policies.

FNBL is a different approach to this issue. Instead of fighting fake news in their origin FNBL diminishes their visibility and limits their impact in all spheres of society.

What is fake news?

Fake news is a type of yellow journalism or propaganda that consists of deliberate misinformation or hoaxes spread via traditional print and broadcast news media or online social media.

This false information is mainly distributed by social media, but is periodically circulated through mainstream media. Fake news is written and published with the intent to mislead in order to damage an agency, entity, or person, and/or gain financially or politically, often using sensationalist, dishonest, or outright fabricated headlines

to increase readership, online sharing, and Internet click revenue.

In the latter case, it is similar to sensational online “clickbait” headlines and relies on advertising revenue generated from this activity, regardless of the veracity of the published stories.

Intentionally misleading and deceptive fake news differs from obvious satire or parody, which is intended to amuse rather than mislead its audience.

What is FNBL?

It’s a tool for public awareness. It can free the editorial market of several brands and political groups free from any journalistic constraints. Besides that, in a market where consumers do not tell apart editorial and entertainment content, fake news is like a virus, targeting the fundamental pillars of our society.

What is not

It’s not a tool for censorship, religious or political opinion. It does not maintain any personal content or information whatsoever. It does not profile, gatters or shares any data from users. Most importantly it does not stop fake news by itself, it just identifies it.

How it works

FNBL uses a combination of AI and human review by editors, contributors and fact checkers to analize content. It then gives any content a reputation score that publishers, social networks, realtime chats or discution foruns can use to flag fake news, images or videos to users.

Reputation score

Reputation score is the core of FNBL. Any content will have a given avaliation and the reputation score therefore identifies the credibility of that content, from 100% fake news to 100% real news.

Just like a search engine, FNBL will crawl the internet looking for content. It can be pages, text, images or videos. Content providers can submit content to FNBL too.

With the content indexed FNBL will analize it looking for fake news content. With an advanced AI engine FNBL will flag some content for human analysis.

Flaged content which the AI engine cannot match 100% as fake will be reviewed by editors, contributors and selected fact checkers and a reputation score is given.

The propose of FNBL is to provide the content’s reputation score to the public. News organizations, social media networks, realtime chats can check FNBL for any content.
